Bałtyk Noise/Sculpture

from Polish Soundscapes by AKASHIC RECORDS

/

about

A baffling object resembling a skeleton of a fuselage laying horizontally running about 20 meters in length and maybe 2 meters tall, suspended above the ground by 2 triangular bases on the two ends. It's a cigar-shaped metal sculpture which I found impossible to photograph. The cage-like structure is covered by square metal plates that jiggle back and forth loosely. There is an axle that extends through the center and one can with some muscle get the tunnel to rotate and create the noise you hear. Evidently a Christmas decoration, vaguely resembling a tree that was never hoisted to verticality, it is accompanied in this corporate square by another similar sculpture that does look exactly like a Christmas tree ornament. It was recorded on 3 different occasions with an array of 4 microphones, not depicted in the photo.
