about

Recorded in a Harlem (NY) apartment in 1999 in one improvised, live session by Alex Kytasty onto disc drive using one stereo microphone.

Personnel:
Jeff Gburek: rebab, slenthem, saron, bonang, griddle gongs, drums, metal bars, electro-acoustic mbira, lancelot, su-ling;
Neel Murgai: sitar, persian daf drum, voice, goa bells;
Drew Gardener: drums,small percussion, bonang, saron;
Ephia Gburek: lancelot, shortwave radio, saron peking.

Side note: the lancelot is an electro-acoustic feed-back instrument that consisted of a microphone plugged into the horn f a bugle that could be directionally aimed at a boom-box and the feedback manipulated by pitch-shift delay pedal. So the electronic sounds derives mainly from this device.
