Invited out on the town by our host shortly after arrival on our first evening in Bucarest, we all had not no idea when we returned to the 7th floor apartment overlooking the darkened square opposite the Parlaimentary Palace. But I woke in full daylight to hear these sounds and watch the helicopters blue, green in formations of three, fighter jets in small schools, heavy cargo carriers, more helicopters small and large, dark and light planes, propeller driven. Our host was fast asleep, never heard them, and never has heard them, I think.
