Sound in the Soluble State Part 1

from Sound in the Soluble State by AKASHIC RECORDS

/

about

The entire body of Sound in the Soluble State was performed live in one 51 minute session on the 25th of October 2016, imagined as a seance or wake for Polish sound artist Eugeniusz Rudnik. It has been divided into two sections for the convenience of the editing process. When I engage in the musical behavior that I call a "seance" I lay out all the materials, instruments and processes before hand, meditating on each material, instrument or process, determining whether they will enter into the acts of improvisation. then I just do it. Instruments include: stones, metal objects, gongs, aluminum bars, glass bells, orchestral chimes, prepared guitar, analog delays, laptop synthesis and live transformation of sounds, piano, drums, shortawave radio, bull roarer, deer antler and deer bone. Each instrument is considered as a dialogic partner seeking resonance and recognition in space and time.
