walking about dieng plateau --the over-used word lush comes to mind but what better word to suggest the misty green deliciousness of this earth-scape of farming terraces sculpted over centuries to reek of such fertility. it was cool tropical that day. foggy. energized by oxygen and slight fear of being in places we weren't sure we were supposed to be in. wandering, a literal labyrinth of terraces unfolding in huge luminous green leaves, some the size of elephant ears. right there in the labial folds of one of the earth's greatest vaginas. whether born already or being born just then or merely sloshing around in the mud, we came to a certain cleft and heard the music from megaphone and then saw the parade and walked down in their direction. full western marching band and another band of gongsters lead by a barung-maksed dancer
