about

Voiced (Poems) onto (Cassette) Tape, Summer 2014 + "The Channel" (Primavera, 14).

Tracks 1 through 4 are readings of poems & fragments of thoughts, occasionally opened to improvisations and stuttering pick-ups launched into rhythmic reclamation. The texts do exist and I will likely post them sometime soon, especially if someone adamantly inquires. Otherwise, they appear fresh and low-fi, recited into a dictaphone, in various locations during my summer travels. Track 5 is a recitation of Shakespeare's 27th sonnet, "for insomniacs only", recorded at home, in solitude. Not perhaps his finest but I happily got through it without, I feel, mangling the sense. Last comes a version of "The Channel" with instrumental support, recorded earlier this Spring. May you grasp the door handle that does not dissolve. Shukrun. Jeff Gburek, Poznań, 9/3/2014
