Milk Drops Turned to Diamond

The names are
essential, that we
each know them,

we who sound like
cows' dreams
when we speak

(the names of favorite
flowers will do,
pollinated in the veiled

synaptic dream-
flow brought out as
the inverse of any

convenient 'present'
in which we suck
the owl's teats that

grow out of the Kali
sows that rise like
pearls charmed by

the undertow from
the sea's depths
as whitecaps

that guard the waist
of the void: How else
could it be, to have

Our Lady's pure
neurological semen
ooze up and out

and down behind
eyes that being two
still see a single

thing, the neck of
sleep broken just so
movement can

exist and make
the distance of
her heartbeat

a memory invisible
yet clearly present
enough to worship.

on the night of the dying moon all prayers...

seem silenced in the grove of shared despairs,
celebrations, grooms of the late stars,
send a cry for alien brides tending unbridled flowers
across scattered earth-like orbs
where hunger is nearly unknown
and desire, a shadow, shifting, seamless

& deep inside the jungle of heat
on the imaginary peaks
being reached in reality
and and so physically well
remembered they dwell
in luminous red scours
and florescent algae
forever real, forever imaginary
inside this place displaced
by the heat to the water's edge
where skirts fan bronze legs
and a drum-head tickled
by the bristle of stiff leaves
leaves the chirping of the tree-frog
momentarily baffled...
here there will come again
the fire-flies
